MYKOLAIV, SEPTEMBER, 23rd, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – The amount of cargo operated on the berths of Mykolaiv ports and other companies has decreased 8.2 percent making 15 million 300 thousand tonnes in 8 months of 2009, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today 23 September at the State Committee of statistics in Mykolaiv Oblast.

In particular, the volumes of the internal cargo operations went 58 percent down, transit cargoes – 30.9 percent. At the same time the amount of exported cargoes increased 32.3 percent.

Through the period of January – August 2009 1 thousand 627 vessels were operated in the ports, 1 thousand 508 of them being foreign or in freight. The total amount of ship operations reduced compared to last-year January-August by 19 percent, foreign vessels and in freight – 5.7 percent. The amount of river ships fell 55.4 percent, sea ships – 13.4 percent.
