Rescue ship designed by engineers of Odesa laid in Neva shipyard

ODESA, SEPTMBER, 23rd, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – 22 September, a festive keel-laying of a multipurpose rescue cutter designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau took place on the territory of OJSC Neva Shiprepair and Shipbuilding Yard, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today 23 September at the press-service of the Marine Engineering Bureau.

According to the press-service, this is a high ice class vessel having reinforced double-deck superstructure of the forecastle, bow location of the accommodation and the engine room in the middle, equipped with a diesel-electric power with two full revolving steering propeller column and bow thrusters has the following parameters: hull length – 73 m, width – 16.6 m, full-speed – 15 knots, endurance – 20 days.

INFORMATION: OJSC “Marine Engineering Bureau” was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC “Marine Engineering Bureau” works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
