ODESA, OCTOBER, 2nd, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – According to the operative data the Governmental Enterprise Commercial Sea Port of Illichivsk has exceeded the plan 14.4 percent in September, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today 2 October at the press-service of the port.

According to the press-service, the plans for September and nine months of 2009 have been met even exceeding the expected results by 14.4 and 0.7 percent respectively.

The total amount of cargo operations in the port in September made 1 million 402 thousand tonnes and 12 million 333 thousand tonnes for the nine-month period.

At that compared to the last year, the cargo turnover of the port fell 14.6 percent in total, which includes the operation of general cargoes – 25.6 percent, bulk cargoes – 2.1 percent, liquid cargoes – 0.8 percent.

Metal and vegetable oil demonstrated the best growing tempos in September 2009 – 26.2 and 129.8 percent respectively, as well as grain showed 13.1 growth and sulphur 14.5 percent.

The cargo flow of automobiles and auto equipment suffered the biggest decrease compared to the same period last year making 95 percent.

INFORMATION: GE Commercial Sea Port of Illichivsk is situated on the banks of Dry Estuary, 12 miles south-west away from Odesa. The ways between Europe and Asia, international corridors of Ukraine go through the port. It operates vessel with the draught of up to 13 m, freight-carrying capacity of under 100 thousand t, the length of vessels being unlimited. The inner water area of the port makes 365.85 hectares; the mooring line length is 6 thousand m. The port is open all the year round.
