ODESSA, MAY, 14TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Direction of SE «Ilyichevsk sea trading port» has declared that the enterprise works in a normal mode, and there were no raider attacks committed yet, “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

IA “Context-Prichernomorie” was informed about this today, on May, 14th, by the ISTP department of marketing and logistics, making comments on the yesterday's statement of Minister of transport and communication of Ukraine Joseph Vinsky about the possibility of raider attacks directed on the port within the next few days.

As it was noted by the department: «We heard statement of the minister about the raider attacks possibility but we do not have any additional information about this. We have already hired additional security but everything’s quiet in the port for now. We do not know where does this date of May, 13th come from».

Earlier, a number of mass-media has promulgated Joseph Vinsky's statement made by him yesterday, on May, 13th, to «UNIAN» news agency. According to the minister, the Ilyichevsksea trading port assault should occur on Wednesday, May, 13th. «All large ports today are being studied carefully not only Ilyichevsk, but also Odessa, and Nikolaev and other ports», — J.Vinsky has also noted.

INFORMATION: INFORMATION: State Enterprise «Ilyichevsk sea trading port» is located on Sukhoi estuary coast, 12 miles to the south-west of Odessa. Ways between the Europe and Asia, the international transport corridors of Ukraine are going through the port. The port serves vessels with extreme draft of 13 m, carrying capacity up to 100 thousand tones, thus the length of the vessels is not limited. The internal water area of port makes up 365,85 hectares, length of a berthing line — 6 000 m.

Port is ready to serve vessels all the year round.
