MYKOLAIV, DECEMBER, 9th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Another navigation amount record has been set up on the Bystroye Channel – 15 vessels passed through the Channel in 24 hours, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.
The agency was informed about it today 9 December at the press-service of GE Delta-Pilot.
According to their information, this is an absolute record amount of navigations through the channel in one day. For the very same day only 3 vessels passed through the Romanian Black Sea Channel, which is actually 5 times less.
“Due to the work of Ukrainian Ministry of Transport and Communications in cooperation with GE Delta-Pilot more and more vessels has been navigating through the Channel day by day. 100 ships per month has become a norm. The Channel is in demand with the ship-owners and is a real competitor to the Romanian one. I believe the cargo turnover will be growing further in this direction”, deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Ukraine Mikhail Chubai said.
The previous record was noted twice – 25 November and 2 December. Then the amount of vessels on the Channel made 11.
