MYKOLAIV, FEBRUARY, 9th, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Repair operations at Block 3 of the Yuzhnoukrainsk Power Plant are intended to be finished by 26 April this year, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today at the PR Dept of the Yuzhnoukrainsk Power Plant.

The operation Block No 3 of the power plant was suspended 5 February for carrying out scheduled preventive repairs. While suspending the operation of the block there were no emergencies.

Within the terms of repair works, which is 80 calendar days, the following works are to be done: capital repair of the reactor, technical survey of the inside and outside surfaces, capital repair and survey of principal circulation pump No 2, vapour generator No 3, pressure compensator, and other equipment.

The equipment of blocks No 1 and 2 is working with no faults in the given mode.

The radiation background at the plant is within the natural norm.
