MYKOLAIV, MARCH, 22nd, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Automobile and municipal transport of the Mykolaiv Region carried 19 million 300 thousand passengers through the period of January-February 2010, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today 22 March at the Mykolaiv Regional Chief Administration of Statistics.

According to their information, the passenger turnover for the stated period made 251.5 million passengers/km which is 8.8 percent less than for the same period last year.

Automobile transport of the region transported 14.5 million passengers, of this amount private entrepreneurs transported 12 million 100 thousand passengers which is respectively 1.9 and 0.7 percent less than in January-February 2009.

4 million 800 thousand people used the service of communal electric transport, at that the amount of passengers transported by trams was 25.8 percent cut compared to the same period in 2009, by trolleybuses – by 41.3 percent respectively.

Air transport carried twice as many passengers as in January-February 2009.
