MYKOLAIV, JUNE 24th, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Mayor of Mykolaiv Vladimir Chaika has awarded Consul General of the Russian Federation to Odesa Aleksandr Grachev with Order of Merit, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

This was announced today 24 June at the 47th Session of the City Council.

In his turn Mr Grachev emphasized on the warming in relations between Ukraine and Russia.

“This is really good that we are restoring cooperation in shipbuilding. I know in the west no one is waiting for either Russia or Ukraine especially when it concerns business or economy. We have to develop on our own. We are neighbours, we have thousands of ties. It’s a great fact that we have finally realized the period of hard confrontation has gone: the trade turnover between our countries has gone up in three months. And Mykolaiv, even from the point of view of pure emotions, is a very close point to us. Our relations with Mykolaiv – with both the mayor and the deputies – are very close”, Mr Grachov said.
