World Association of Nuclear Operators holding a seminar at the Yuzhnoukrainsk Nuclear Power Plant

MYKOLAIV, SEPTEMBER 23rd, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — An international workshop on Using Exploitation Experience is being held by the World Association of Nuclear Operators holding at the Yuzhnoukrainsk Nuclear Power Plant, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today at the PR Dept of Yuzhnoukrainsk Nuclear Power Plant.

The seminar was organized by World Association of Nuclear Operators, Moscow Centre and NNEGC Energoatom. A group of experts of International Atomic Energy Agency were also invited to participate.

Experts from Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, Armenia, Canada and Sweden will be sharing their experience of using the information about events at different power stations in the world until the end of this week.

Deputy Director of WANO Moscow Centre Sergey Vybornov stressed the programme Exchange of Exploitation Information was one of the most dynamically developing. A lot of countries in the world declare their intentions to develop nuclear energy sector. So the world experience and practice is very important for them.

Representative of NNEGC Energoatom Viktor Tarasenko said, the company regarded taking into account exploitation experience as an important means of safety, reliability and efficiency of Ukrainian nuclear power stations.

Members of the WANO Moscow Centre are planning to hold events of the kind every year at different power stations. This seminar was held in Yuzhnoukrainsk before — in 2001 and 2007.
