ODESA, DECEMBER 17th, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — As of 17 December Yuzhny Port has already exceeded the cargo turnover annual plan, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 17 December, at the port’s press office.

According to their information, the port’s dispatcher service reported the plan to have been exceeded by 30.6 thousand tons. The company’s turnover has made over 17 million 350 thousand tons, which is 261 thousand tons more than during the same period in 2009.

Over the period of 11.5 months the port operated 699 ships, while the amount of operated railway carriages reached 138 thousand 297.

“The port is expected to experience significant improvements in all indices before the end of the year”, they stressed at the press service.

INFORMATION: Commercial Sea Port of Yuzhny is situated in the North-West area of the Black Sea, on the ice-free Adzhalykskiy Liman and is a cargo operation turnover leader (20 million 698 thousand 600 tons in 2005). Main transportation directions: the Black Sea and the Mediterranean basins, the USA, Latin America, Middle East, South-Eastern Asia. All cargo, storage and auxiliary operations are carried out in the port. There work specialized complexes in the port for operation of mineral fertilizers, liquid chemicals, export overload berths for general and bulk cargoes.
