ODESA, DECEMBER 28th, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — GE Illichivsk Commercial Sea Port has been recognized one of the best state-owned enterprises according to its principal activity, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 28 December, at the press office of GE Illichivsk Commercial Sea Port.

According to their information, after the ranking of about 300 thousand enterprises in Ukraine, GE Illichivsk Commercial Sea Port, according to its principal activity, has been awarded the certificate “State-Owned Enterprise of the Year”. It is to certify the legitimacy of the title and demonstrate high economic results achieved. The company has also been awarded the Certificate “Best State Manager of the Year”, and the order “Professional of the Branch”.

These awards prove the company to be the leader among Ukrainian transport companies and demo0nstrate its great achievements”, they stressed at the press office.

INFORMATION: Illichivsk Commercial Sea Port is one of the ‘youngest’ on the Black Sea. The Port was erected in the Soviet period in 1960s mainly for sea trade with socialistic countries. It has railway and vehicle approaches connected with the country’s mains. There are several operating ferry-crossings: Illichivsk–Varna (Bulgary), Illichivsk–Poti and Illichivsk – Batumi (Georgia). Cargo operation complexes of the Port consisting of 28 berths having total length 5 thousand 500 metres are equipped with modern cargo-operating machinery.
