Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure provides discounts for transit cargo operations at five ports of Odesa Region

ODESA, JANUARY 11th, 2011, CONTEXT-PTICHERNOMORIE — The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has provided up to 50% discounts for transit cargo operations at five ports of Odesa Region, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 11 January, at the spokes office of the ministry.

According to their information, the Bill signed by the Minister of Infrastructure has now taken force.

The discounts will be available at all Ukrainian commercial sea ports, as well as in 5 ports of Odesa Oblast: Odesa, Illichivsk, Yuzhny, Reni and Ust-Dunaisk.

In particular, Illichivsk Commercial Sea Port will be providing 30% discount for transit of grain and seeds, iron pigs, ferrous metals and 40% for transit of bulk sulphur.

At the Port of Reni there will be a 25% discount available for the transit of packing and iron ore, 23% for ferrous metals, 33% for grains, 20% for bulk coal, 30% for bulk chemicals. If cargoes are transported by Danube-Sea or Sea-Danube method, the discount will make 50%, as well as for bulk chemicals.

Ust-Dunaisk Commercial Sea Port will be providing 50% discount for the transit of bulk grains and seeds, and bulk chemicals, 39% discount for cargoes in sacks up to 30 kg, 35% for heavy cargoes in boxes and unpacked (251 — 3000 kg), 18% for heavy cargoes (3001 kg and above), 33% for synthetic packing materials in packs, 50% for nonferrous materials (over 250 kg), 35% for cargoes in packs and bales (up to 250 kg inclusive), 25% for cargoes in packs and bales (over 250 kg), 21.5% for ferrous materials.

Yuzhny Commercial Sea Port will be providing 25% discounts for the transit of iron ore and bulk coal.

Odesa Commercial Sea Port will be providing 30% for the transit of iron pigs and ferrous materials, 30% for grains, iron ore and raw sugar.

A 50% discount will be available at all the ports for the transit of universal containers.
