ODESA, MARCH 15th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― A project of the ferry crossing Izmail―Tulccea has been presented in Odesa today, 15 March, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The presentation was conducted by General Director Izmail Ferry Crossing LTD Vasiliy Klishin the sitting of the working group Transport Potential Development of the Regional Committee for Regional Development.

According to Mr Klishin, on March 31, 2004, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the Bill «On approval of the Programme of integrated development of the Ukrainian Danube for 2004―2010, one of its paragraphs provided for the construction of the ferry complex Izmail―Tulcea.

During the meeting it was also noted that the project proponent ― Izmail Ferry Crossing LTD ― will get down to the construction and delivery of the car ferry Izmail―Tulcea (Ukraine―Romania) within 12 months’ period. The Romanian part of the project is the mooring area and waterfront complex with all the necessary infrastructural units has been constructed.

Izmail Ferry Crossing LTD has leased a total of 2.3 hectares of land for a 49-year term for the construction and operation of the automobile ferry Izmaill―Tulcea.

Now, Izmail Ferry has «Feasibility study of investments» developed by ChernomorNIIproekt. It contains a positive comprehensive expert evaluation carried out by Ukrinvestexpertize.

He also added there is a draft project for the construction of the onshore car ferry Izmail―Tulcea and many other documents.
