ODESA, MARCH 15th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Romanian company MBS Invest SRL has held a presentation of the Orlovka-Isaccea Ferry Line project in Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The presentation was carried through by a MBS Invest SRL representative today, 15 March, during the sitting of the working group Transport Potential Development of the Regional Committee for Regional Development.

“It is very important for us the project of the Orlovka―Isakcha Ferry Line can be considered at the level of Odesa regional authorities. Romanian MBS Invest SRL has acquired 14 hectares of land (on terms of concession) from the Isaccea City Council for the ferry, which will have the basic ferry infrastructure (4 hectares), namely: an equipped berth, customs and border-guard building, customs broker premises etc. . There will also be a free economic zone, a restaurant, a parking lot, a hotel, a petrol station, and service garage. The whole licensing process has been completed as far as Romanian side is concerned, the necessary documents have been acquired”, he said.

“The Orlovka―Issacea Ferry Crossing’s capacity will make 56 passenger cars (12 T.I.R.) per hour in both directions. With a 20-hour operation of two ferries a day up to a thousand cars can be shipped”, he added.
