Odesa port to keep processing oil from Venezuela

ODESA, APRIL 11th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Odesa port will keep processing oil from Venezuela, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Odesa Commercial Sea port has informed about it today, 11 April, with reference to Embassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela to Russia and Ukraine Mr Hugo José García Hernández.

According to the press service, a delegation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela headed by Embassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela to Russia and Ukraine Mr Hugo José García Hernández visited the Odesa port. The delegation was made hosted by the port CEO Nikolay Pavliuk and first deputy chief of the port Yuri Vaska. The visit of Venezuelan guests was introductory.

According to the envoy, the government of this Latin American country is interested in expanding trade relations with Ukraine, development of cooperation in tourism education. Of particular interest are the Ukrainian ports, and, above all, Odesa, thanks to its geographical location. One of the best examples of cooperation between the two countries — the supply of oil through the port of Odesa on Belarus. In turn, the Venezuelan side is interested in the supply of Ukrainian machinery and equipment.
