Chinese shipyard commissions the third shallow-draft multifunctional tug Hercules designed in Odesa

ODESA, AUGUST 29th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Chinese shipyard Nanjing East Star has commissioned the third of a series shallow-draft multifunctional tug Hercules designed in Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 29 August, at the press service of Marine, Engineering Bureau.

The press service noted, 26 August yard Nanjing East Star (province Jiangsu, China) launched the third shallow-draft multifunctional tug Hercules (OMS-803), Project TG05, working capacity 1600 kW for the northern Caspian Sea.

Customer — OMS Shipping. The company creates a fleet of special vessels to service offshore operations in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.

TG05 Project was developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau.

The vessel is a shallow-draft marine transport tug for towing operations at sea, in port or at anchor, also used to extinguish fires on other ships, floating and shore installations. It is possible to transport on the open deck cargo weighing up to 23 m. The ship has a length of the project TG05 maximum 30.72 m, length between perpendiculars — 26.80 m Overall width — 11.55 m, the estimated width — 10.6 m, depth — 4.5 m Draft — -depending on the stock from 2.50 to 2.90 m.

INFORMATION: OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
