Two DCV47 supply ships for Kamchatka, developed by MIB, Odesa, to be delivered to Vladivostok by 1 October

ODESA, SEPTEMBER 1st, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Two DCV47 supply ships for Kamchatka, developed by MIB, Odesa, are to be delivered to Vladivostok by 1 October, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

MIB’s press service reported today, 1 September.

According to their information, on the roads to Port Kavkaz a unique operation was carried out to lift two DCV47 supply ships for Kamchatka on board of the heavy-HHL Hamburg.

Hansa Heavy Lift GmbH Shipping Company believes to deliver the valuable cargo to its destination — the port of Vladivostok — until October 1, 2011.

The ships Sosnovka-1 and Sosnovka-2 were built at Sosnovka Shipyard for the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport of Russia. The project was developed by Marine Engineering Bureau, Odesa.

The vessels are seagoing Ro-Ro self-propelled barges with carrying capacity of 250 t.

They were designed for transportation of general, bulk and container cargo on the cargo deck, wheeled and tracked vehicles rolling way offshore loading and unloading of ships, delivery of cargo to the shore unequipped with the ability to dehydration on sand and gravel and soil, horizontal unloading of cargo shipped through the nose ramp or the ship's cargo crane.

INFORMATION: OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
