ODESA, SEPTEMBER 12th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Metropolitan of Odesa and Izmail Agathangelus has held a meeting with the newly appointed Consul General of Turkey to Odesa on the occasion of the commencement of his Office, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 12 September, at the press service of Odesa Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate.

According to their information, 10 September Reverend Agathangelus received the new Consul General of Turkey to Odesa Husseyin Ergani in his residence, located on the territory of the Holy Dormition Monastery in Odesa.

The Lord warmly welcomed the Turkish diplomat, adding that his predecessor Mr Murat Tamer for all these years had maintained friendly relations with the metropolis of Odesa, which contributed to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the peoples of Turkey and Ukraine.

In turn, H. Ergani expressed the hope that this constructive cooperation will expand.

The envoy also noted the prominent role of Metropolitan Agafangel in strengthening inter-religious peace and good neighbourly relations between the various peoples living in the Odesa region
