KHERSON, SEPTEMBER 14th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Yesterday, 13 September, Kherson State university hosted a seminar Fröbel’s pedagogics: Way to Integration of Ukrainian and German Educational Systems, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Prof. Liubov Petukhova, Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogics informed today, 14 September.

According to her, KSU’s Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education has been collaborating with Gospel Fröbel seminar for 9 years now.

“Over the years both schools have achieved certain results in the search for new approaches to education of preschool children with the challenges of the modern world. This was facilitated by the exchange of students, faculty meetings, joint academic conferences, community educators and practitioners from Kherson and Kassel concerning the work with the children of preschool age”, said the Dean.

This close cooperation, she said, led to the creation, in 2009, of the Friedrich Fröbel Education Centre, the first and only one in Ukraine, which has become a centre for the dissemination of ideas of the outstanding German teacher and current experiences.”

The workshop brought together leading scientists of the University, teachers, the leaders of kindergartens in Kherson, as well as representatives of the institution of the Evangelical Fröbel Seminar (Kassel, Germany) and Elizabeth Ferayn Charity Foundation (Marburg, Germany).

The participants discussed current problems of education of preschool children using the ideas of F. Fröbel.
