Ukraine and Bulgaria sign Declaration of Health Collaboration

ODESA, SEPTEMBER 23rd, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Yesterday, 22 September Association of NGOs Public Board for Health, Odesa, Ukraine, and South-Eastern European Forum, Sofia, Bulgaia, signed Declaration of Health Collaboration, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Deputy Chairman of the Odesa Regional Branch of the Ukrainian Medical Societies Mykola Tyschuk announced today, 23 September, during the round table meeting Problems of Reforming Healthcare in Ukraine: the European Context.

The Declaration was signed by the President of the South-Eastern European Medical Forum Andrey Kehayov, Chairman of the Association of Public Organizations Public Board for Health Irina Galina and Executive Director Mykola Tyschuk.

The parties identified core areas of the partnership: development of public health at national and sub-European level, development of medical self-empowerment of national medical societies and their influence on the formulation and implementation of effective policies in the field of public health impact of the public on the formulation and implementation of effective policies in health care on principles of solidarity and social justice, and cooperation in the development of regional and district health systems with state and local governments, health institutions and mass media, the study of the reform of the financing and health systems, effective public control over the quality of care and respect for human patient and medical personnel, social organizations partnership with medical institutions, the provision of medical and social assistance, social and medical protection of vulnerable categories of population, development and implementation of prevention programs, promotion of healthy lifestyles, the implementation of other activities in the field of health protection, of mutual interest.
