ODESA, OCTOBER 3rd, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Torlak shipyard, Turkey, commissions specialised cattle carrying ship Gracia Del designed by Marine Engineering Bureau, Odesa, Ukraine, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 3 October, at the press service of the company.

According to the press service, the 9-deck vessel was designed for the transportation of livestock (up to 6400 heads) along the routes of South America — Middle East and Australia — Middle East countries, as well as transportation of camels from Africa to the Middle East. The vessel’s overall length is 122.77 m, width — 19.4 m, with a solid superstructure along the entire length of the vessel (depth to main deck — 12.3 m) in aft engine room, accommodation superstructure and bridge, double bottom, double sides, with bulbous bow and transom stern ends, with the excess freeboard.

The operating speed of the vessel is 14.5 knots. The crew consists of 28 people.

The total area of eight cargo decks is 9 thousand 281 square meters.

The capacity of the two feed bins (silos) — 2121 cubic metres, desalination plant capacity (for water) — up to 360 cubic mteres per day.

INFORMATION: OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
