Oka Shipyard launches the eighth RSD44 dry cargo vessel designed by Marine Engineering Bureau, Odesa

ODESA, OCTOBER 15th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Oka Shipyard has launched the eighth RSD44 dry cargo vessel designed by Marine Engineering Bureau, Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Marine Engineering Bureau informed today, 15 October.

The press service reminded that the vessels of the series delivered before — M/V Captain Ruzmankin, M/V Captain Zagryadtsev, M/V Captain Krasnov, M/V Captain Gudovich, M/V Captain Sergeyev and M/VCaptain Kadomtsev — are operated by Volga Shipping in for transportation of bulk cargoes.

The operation of vessels can also be carried out on the Volga-Don Ship Canal (VDSK), the Volga-Baltic Canal, the Azov Sea to the port of Kavkaz and in the Gulf of Finland. Passing under the Neva bridges in the area of St. Petersburg and Rostov under the railway bridge (Rostov-on-Don) to be carried out without their setting (maximum surface clearance when passing under the bridges of 5.4 m).

Deadweight of the vessel Captain Yurov at a draft of 3.6 m in the river makes about 5543 tons,

at a draft of 3.53 meters at sea — 5562 tons. The capacity of the cargo holds — 7090 cubic metres.

The crew consists of 8 people.

INFORMATION: OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
