Chinese shipyard commissions dry-cargo vessel Lazurit designed in Odesa

ODESA, DECEMBER 2nd, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Qingdao Hyundai Shipbuilding Co, China, has commissioned the dry-cargo vessel Lazurit designed by Marine Engineering Bureau, Odesa (project DCV36), Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Marine Engineering Bureau informed today, 2 December.

According to the press service, the DCV36 vessels are designed for marine transportation of general and bulk cargo, including 20-foot and 40-foot containers (up to 9.5 feet high), metal, grain, timber, coal, bulk and heavy cargoes, dangerous goods classes.

This is a single-deck, single-hold, single-screw motor ship for unlimited navigation area, with forecastle and poop, with the aft cabin living and the engine room, with double bottom and double sides in the cargo holds, with removable grain bulkheads with bulbous bow and transom aft ends, with Folding hatch covers of Cargotech, with bow thruster. Overall length — 89.96 m, the estimated length — 84.89 m, width — 14.5 m, draught — 7.5 m. The autonomy of the vessel — 25 days.

INFORMATION: OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
