ODESA, DECEMBER 7th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — BC Khimik, Yuzhny, has lost in favour of the Russian Nizhniy Novgorod in a FIBA Eurochallenge 2011-2012 match, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Khimik’s press service informed today, 7 December.

According to the press service, yesterday, 6 December, a FIBA Eurochallenge match took place in Yuzhny BC Khimik vs BC Nizhny Novgorod. The match ended with the score 87:78 in favour of the Russian team.

“The Russian left with a victory and 2 winning points and left no chance for the team of Yuzhy of getting into the FIBA Eurochallenge top 16. Now Khimik will fully focus on the domestic championship”, the press service said.

The head coach of BC Khimik Darko Russo said: “I congratulate the opposing team — they absolutely deserved the victory. We played good football in the first half, in the second half it was an absolutely different team. Absolutely, without concentration, especially in defence. Bremer could not stop — he scored 39 points. The second half was played slowly. After an aggressive defence they could not score points.”

INFORMATION: BC Khimik was founded in 2001 in Yuzhniy on the initiative of OJSC Odesa Port Plant. The club has lately been in the Top Four of Ukrainian basketball teams.
