ODESSA, JUNE, 24TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Opening of the International expert conference «Safety of navigation and ecological safety in a transboundary context in the Black Sea basin» took place in hotel «Odessa» today, on June, 24th, IA “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

The Deputy Minister of transport and communication of Ukraine Vladimir Rabotnev, the Deputy Minister of protection of a surrounding environment Dmitry Gurskoy, the representative of the Finnish presidency of OSCE Aleksi Harkonen, the coordinator of projects of OSCE in Ukraine Lyubomir Kopay, the coordinator of economic and ecological activity of OSCE Bernard Snua and others have taken part in opening ceremony.

As D. Gurskoy has noted, the purpose of the given action is development of offers on preservation of ecology of the seas and maintenance of safe transportation of cargoes.

The expert conference lasts for three days during which experts from different countries will discuss such questions as system of safety of navigation, safety of navigation, influence of navigation on ecological safety, transboundary aspects of ecological safety in the Black Sea basin, pollution by oil floods and other dangerous substances and many other things.
