ODESA, MAY 17th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — V.F. Tanker has accepted for exploitation the second RST27 tanker designed by Marine Engineering Bureau, Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Marine Engineering Bureau informed today, 17 May.

According to the press service, the ship was laid down on October 3, 2011, and was set afloat on March 17, 2012.

The project RST27 provides for construction of an overall of ten tankers. Two more vessels are afloat. The delivery of the vessel Tanker WF-2 is expected on May 23.

In comparison with other projects carried out by Marine Engineering Bureau the tanker has an enhanced river function, increased by 732 tons deadweight in the river (compared to the Armada) featuring high-strength hull, virtually the same fuel economy, maintaining high capacity of cargo tanks.

The capacity of the six cargo tanks and two slop tanks is 8100 cubic metres, deadweight in the sea — 7022 tons at a draft of 4.2 metres, in the river, at 3.6 m — 5420 tons, operation speed — 11 knots.

The crew consists of 12 people.

INFORMATION: OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys.
