Nobel Shipyard lays ROB07 twin-hulled barge designed in Odesa

ODESA, JULY 11th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Nobel Shipyard, Russia, has laid a twin-hulled barge (ROB07) designed by Marine Engineering Bureau, Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the bureau informed today, 11 July.

According to their information, yesterday, 10 July, Nobel Shipyard held the ceremonial laying of the keel a double-hulled oil barge (project ROB07) with the deadweight of 4400 tons for the Lena basin.

The Customer is JSC Lena United River Shipping Company.

When designing the new ROB07 ship, were taken into account the requirements of the international MARPOL Convention and the special requirements of Russian and international oil companies. The ships have a double bottom and the second board and are designed to transport crude oil and petroleum products with no flashpoint.

The concept was developed in accordance with the results of the research Development of conceptual design of specialized tankers and dry cargo vessels in order to guarantee delivery of goods in the Arctic regions of Russia, performed by MIA for the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport of the Russian Federation under the Federal Program «Development of Civilian Marine Engineering in 2009 ― 2016 .

INFORMATION: OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
