ODESA, AUGUST 1st, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The Second stage of the Open International Sailing Regatta Odesa ― Batumi ― Odesa started yesterday, 31 July, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The Organizing Committee of the Regatta informed today, 1 August.

According to the organizing committee, 3 of the 4 yachts that started 10 days ago reached the semifinal. Garnet, Odesa, was the first to arrive on Friday night. Agate, Mykolaivv, finished second, and Mercury moored in the port of Batumi on Sunday night. The participating yachts came to the intermediate finish with a short interval, so that after application of the racing points (special rate, taking into account the structural features and age of the yacht), the final distribution of seats could change.

On Sunday, Ukrainian sailors took part in one of the stages of the Cup of Georgia. In the race for the Olympic distance in fine style beat Odesa’s Garnet. Having thus a sort of master class for Georgia’s amateur sailors.

On Monday, Ukrainian sailors had an extensive cultural programme, which included tours of the scenic mountains, walk through Batumi, socializing with colleagues. All participants in the race promised to visit Georgia in the future and participate in similar regattas.
