MYKOLAIV, SEPTEMBER 5th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Ukrainian ― Swedish Exhibition of caricatures opens in Mykolaiv, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Mykolaiv City Council Executive Committee informed today, 5 September.

The subject of the caricatures is adverse changes in the climate. This exhibition has already visited many European cities. It was also displayed in Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk and Kyiv, it was visited by about 135 thousand people. Now citizens of Mykolaiv can also attend it.

Welcoming remarks were provided by the city mayor Volodymyr Chaika. He noted that the exhibition of these works reminds us again we all have responsibility for the state of our planet and the need to protect natural resources.

The view at the issue of sustainable development of both ours and Swedish cartoonists is drastically different. If Mykolaiv’s artist Ruslan Rapoport looks at the future with hope and makes the viewer smile, the work of Swedish artists insist that nature cries: Sos!

The exhibition will run until 1 October.
