ODESA, NOVEMBER 10th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― VI City Festival “Languages Rainbow” has been opened today, 10 November, in Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The opening ceremony was held today, 10 November, at the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University.

Representatives of diplomatic missions in Russia, Turkey, Greece, Belarus and Georgia in Odesa attended the ceremony.

Speaking with the opening speech, rector of the University Anton Ananiev noted languages festivals have been held in the world since 1995. They familiarize people with a variety of languages in the world. Festival “Rainbow Languages” was held in Odesa in 2001, 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2010.

The aim of the festival is to extend knowledge of the world and cultural horizons of young people; give a first idea of the humanities; impart respect for all languages and cultures of the world.

The festival will continue for two days. The presentation will be held in 35 languages.

Linguistic contests will also be conducted. Winners will get prizes.
