Opinion: Public hearings “Ukraine’s European perspective” gathered insufficient number of participants

ODESA, NOVEMBER 23rd, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Head of the Committee on European Integration of the Verkhovna Rada and Director of the Institute for Euro-Atlantic cooperation Borys Tarasyuk has noted public hearings “Ukraine’s European perspective after elections 2012” gathered insufficient number of participants, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The head of the Committee stated today, 23 November, during the public hearings “Ukraine’s European perspective after elections 2012”.

“We held events together with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Odesa not for the first time. I am not impressed with the number of participants in the public hearing this time. There was a time, when much more people participated in such events on the issue of Euro-Atlantic integration. Taking into account the attitude of local authorities to the organization, which deprived us of the opportunity to meet with a wider audience, shows the current domestic situation in Ukraine”, he noted.
