KHERSON, NOVEMBER 27th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The International Gymnastics Tournament in memory of the outstanding athlete Aleksandr Beresh will be held 1-2 December in Kherson, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Kherson Regional State Administration reported yesterday, 26 November.

According to the press service, the traditional International Gymnastics Tournament in memory of the outstanding athlete Aleksandr Beresh will be held in the premises of the Kherson High School of Physical Education on 1-2 December.

The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place on 1 December at 11 a.m.

The tournament will bring together teams of gymnasts ― master of sports of international class from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and Moldova.

INFORMATION: : Aleksandr Beresh ― Gymnast submitted considerable hopes and showed excellent results. Silver Olympic medal he won at the Sydney Olympics, along with the National team of Ukraine in the team event, the individual Championship finished third. Beresh was European champion in absolute standings on bars and won three individual medals at the World Cup in 2001. Beresh’s life was suddenly broken by 27 years of age when in his car crashed a government sedan. In memory of the gymnast on the initiative of Alexander's wife Svetlana Beresh, annually held International gymnastics tournament by Alexander Beresh. Competition is conducted by the Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sports.
