ODESA, NOVEMBER 29th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Dean of the Faculty of History, Ph.D. Vyacheslav Kushnir has stated ONU cooperates with Lower Danube University of Galaţi, Romania, as to study of regional history from 2006, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Vyacheslav Kushnir reported today, 29 November, at the meeting with Consul General of Romania to Odesa Emil Rapcea.

“We have worked with Romanian colleagues since 2006. Choosing the university, we were guided by two criteria: a community of research on historical issues and its proximity. Therefore the Faculty of History of ONU began working with Lower Danube University of Galaţi”, the Dean noted.

“During this period we have conducted seminars, conferences both in Odesa and in Galaţi on regional history, from ancient times to the Second World War. During these meetings, we found many topics interest us”, he added. “The second area of cooperation is the work with the students. We exchange students, invite them to the conferences, call to work together. The third area of cooperation is exchange of professors. Fourth is the publication of the scientific literature, starting new special courses in the ONU and Lower Danube University. But most important thing is that we have links between our universities, they are developing, and I think it will continue”.
