FC Chornomorets to hold three practice sessions in Turkey during off season training

ODESA, DECEMBER 5th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― FC Chornomorets will hold three practice sessions in Turkey during off season training, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of FC Chornomorets reported today, 5 December.

According to the press service, a winter break began in the competition calendar. Championship and National Cup is to resume in spring 2013.

General Director of FC Chornomorets Sergiy Kernitsky said 3 December the team was medically examined and 4 December players went on holidays, run until 8 January.

On 10 January the team will go to the first training practice session in Belek, Turkey. The second session will be held 26 January to 7 February, the third ― 11 to 23 February. They will also be held in the Turkish Mediterranean.

Chornomorets’s youth system will hold training game with “Spartak” (Gorlovka) tomorrow in Odesa. The game will start at 11:30 a.m. Through 6 December ― 8 January, they will be on holidays. Then they will begin the preparations for the second part of the championship. The trainings will be held in Odesa.

U-19 team went on the holidays 13 November after the game with “Metalist” in National Championship. Yesterday, the players resumed their training, and on 8 December they will participate in the Winter Championship of Odesa.

Chornomorets U-17 of the Olympic Reserve Sports School will also participate in this competition.

INFORMATION: FC Chornomorets Odesa is a Ukrainian professional football club from the city of Odessa. The club's home ground is the 34,164 Chornomorets Stadium opened in 1935 and rebuilt in 2011. During the reconstruction (2009-2011), the team played in the 4,610 Spartak Stadium. The club was officially formed in 1936 as Dynamo, but after a number of name and management changes, it emerged under its current name in 1958. Chornomorets were deducted 6 points by FIFA on November 6, 2008. It was confirmed by Ukrainian Premier League on March 2, 2009. The club managed to finish the 2008–09 season in 10th place despite the deduction. The 2009–10 season started badly with a 5:0 loss to FC Dynamo Kyiv and a poor run of form that saw the team finish the first half of the season in 13th place, just two spots away from the relegation zone. The club was relegated to the First League at the end of the season. It took, however, just a year for Chornomorets to return to the Ukrainian top flight for the 2011–12 season.
