Athlete from Kherson becomes European champion in Kyokushin Karate

KHERSON, DECEMBER 12th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Athlete from Kherson Eldar Ismailov has become the European champion in Kyokushin Karate in the juniors-category under 75 kg, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The Office of Public Relations of Kherson City Council reported today, 12 December.

According to the Office, Kyokushin Karate European Championships was held 8 December Smederevo (a suburb of Belgrade), Serbia. 240 participants from 18 European countries attended the Championship.

The Ukrainian team was represented by 18 athletes under the direction of head coach Sergiy Vsevolodov. As a result, our team won 7 medals: 2 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze, taking the second place.

Eldar Ismailov from Kherson became the European champion in Kyokushin Karate in the juniors-category under 75 kg, and won the award “The spirit and the will to win”.

By results of performances in 2012 Eldar Ismailov got the license for World Heavyweight Championship, which will be held in April 2013 in Tokyo, Japan.
