Odesa officer-climber wants to climb hills in the Carpathians

ODESA, JANUARY 23th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Odesa officer-climber and marathoner wants to climb more than 2 thousand metres hills in the Carpathians, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The regional media centre of the Ministry of Defence reported today, 23 January.

According to the information, today, January 23, Head of the Military-Medical Clinical Centre’s Admissions Office in South region Igor Bondar sets out to conquer peaks. The route will start in Ivano-Frankivsk region, and he with three athletes of alpinist club “Odesa” is going to climb about 2060 metres.

The centre noted “this is not the first test of the mountains for this brave man. Inspired by climbing eight years ago in the national and international expeditions he risked his live to conquer the peaks of the mountains of the Crimea, the Carpathians and the Caucasus. He climbed the slopes of Mount Elbrus, the Great Himalaya and noting the rise to the top of the mountain system of Central Asia ― the Pamirs, he set the Ukrainian flag at the altitude of 7000 metres”.
