ODESA, JANUARY 28th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The fest for celebrating the Chinese style New Year will be held in Odesa Zoo on 9 February, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Odesa City Council Information Office reported today, 28 January.

On 7 February, Chinese Diaspora representatives will visit Odesa Zoo. The meeting is initiated by the Odesa City Council International Relations Department. The visit of Chinese Diaspora representatives to Odesa Zoo is dated for the Chinese New Year celebration and is dedicated to the hostess of the year 2013 ― Black Water Snake. The workers of the Zoo will hold a brief review of the Zoological Park’s achievements and plans.

After the conference, the Chinese Diaspora representatives and all the guests of the event will have a chance to get acquainted with the reptiles of Odesa Zoo’s aqua terrarium, the collection of which featured over 20 species of snakes.

“On February 9, Odesa Zoo invites all the citizens and the guests of the city to the merry fest, dedicated to celebration of the Chinese New Year. The guests of the fest will have an opportunity to carry out a fascinating journey into the world of the Chinese totems, where they would be able to help the hero of the Russian fairytales, who has found himself among the sacred Chinese animals, escape exposure and come back home peacefully. The programme of the fest includes numerous quizzes, contests, and lots of prizes and souvenirs from the Zoo. On top of that, a special gift will be presented ― a thematic performance by the guests of the celebration ― the representatives of Odesa’s Chinese Diaspora”, the press service added.
