ODESA, MAY 18th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The delegation of Odesa City Council has visited the sister city Lodz, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Odesa City Council Information Office reported today, 18 May.

According to the information, on May 9 – 12, Odesa’s official delegation was visiting the Polish sister city on occasion of the 20th Anniversary of sister city relations.

The delegation was headed by Odesa City Council Culture and Tourism Department Head Tetiana Markova. Besides, the delegation featured “Odesa Herald” Newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief Mikhail Deich, “High Music” Club Chairperson Natalia Ertnova, jazz man Yuri Kuznetsov, photo artist Petro Vovk and the artists of Odesa Academic Musical Comedy Theatre.

Odesa’s delegation took part in retro Mercedeses parade, numerous meetings with Lodz Movie Studio’s specialists were held. In the framework of the visit, an agreement was reached to hold a Jazz Festival participated by Odesa’s musicians in Poland. Besides, it is planned that the Polish movie director Jerzy Hoffman will visit Odesa to demonstrate his movies on our city’s Birthday.

During the visit, Petro Vovk’s photo exhibition took place in Lodz’s Cinema Art Museum. On top of that, “Benya Krik” movie was demonstrated, accompanied by the famous Odesa’s jazz performer Yuri Kuznetsov. The artists of Odesa Academic Musical Comedy Theatre took part in “Violinist of the Roof” performance.

This summer, the united delegation of Odesa and Tallinn will head for the capital of Armenia, Yerevan.
