City Council Secretary meets Turkish Navy representatives

ODESA, MAY 23rd, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — The Secretary of Odesa City Council Oleg Bryndak has met representatives of Turkish Navy, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Odesa City Council Information Office reported today, 23 May.

According to the information, in the beginning of the week, two ships of the Turkish Navy — “Sokullu Mehmet Paşa” and “Iskenderun” with the Turkish Naval Academy cadets, who are on their practice, aboard.

On 20 May, 2013, the navy sailors visited Odesa’s City Hall where they had an official meeting with the City Council Secretary Oleg Bryndak.

The delegation consisted of the vice-consul of the Consulate General of Turkey in Odesa Melih Demirtaş, the commander of the campaign and the ship “Sokullu Mehmet Paşa”, the captain of the first rank Bagadir Gündoğdu, commander of the ship “Iskenderun” captain of the second rank Tuncay Kurnalı.

During the meeting, Mr Bryndak emphasized, “These visits are carried out according to the plan of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey, and have become a good tradition for the both sides participating.”

“It’s joyful that lately, the fruitful relations are developing not only between the Ukrainian and Turkish states, but between our Navies, as well,” the Commander Sinan Sürer said. “This has a positive effect on our mutually beneficial cooperation, thanks to which the Black Sea became the sea of peace and friendship”.

All in all, approximately 900 Turkish sailors of different ranks have come to Odesa in the framework of the visit.
