ODESA, JUNE 26th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The Head of the Committee of Verkhovna Rada on Justice, the Head of the Group of Interparliamentary Relations with Russian Federation Sergiy Kivalov has stated that it is necessary to strengthen Ukraine's rapprochement with Russia, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the MP stated that such a statement Mr Kivalov has said yesterday, 25 June, in Moscow, during the international conference “The Russian-Ukrainian relations: realities and prospects” at Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

The press service noted that the initiative of the event belongs to the state and public figures of Ukraine appealed to the head and the leaders of the four factions of the State Duma of the Russian Federation with a proposal to move from words to action and finally solve accumulated problems.

People's Deputy of Ukraine Sergiy Kivalov drew attention to the fact that in the Verkhovna Rada are closely keep track of the preparation of the establishment in 2015 the Eurasian Economic Union, and specifically, the Eurasian parliament.

“Of course, we would like to see the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to become a full member of the Eurasian parliament. For a start in the status of a partner, associate member. The harmonization and unification of the law with Russia on the basis of a legal framework will be good for Ukraine,” Sergiy Kivalov noted.

Primarily, according to People's Deputy, it concerns the so-called “artificial boundaries” established between the two countries.

“I strongly believe that we should not miss the opportunity to break the artificial barriers between our peoples. And the spiritual and physical, and legal,” he added.

The politician reminded the audience that the parliamentary group on inter-parliamentary relations of Ukraine and Russia are actively working to ensure that the two fraternal states work closely in various strategic areas.
