ODESA, JULY 11th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Agreement for cooperation has been signed between Odesa Regional Council and Mogilev Regional Council of Deputies yesterday, 10 July, in Mogilev, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

According to the press service, the document was certified by the deputy chairman of the Odesa Regional Council Oleksiy Goncharenko and Mogilev Regional Council of Deputies, the director of “Agrokombinat “Voskhod” Viktor Pinchuk.

The parties agreed to cooperate in the sphere of economy, trade, transport, construction, agriculture, science and education, culture, sports, environment, investment. The implementation of the partnership in these areas will be available through the exchange of information of mutual interests, conducting of visits and negotiations, the organization of economic and investment business forums.

According to Oleksiy Goncharenko, turnover rates among regions have not yet reached the intended effect, although there is scope for growth. In January-May 2013 exports to the Odessa region has increased over the same period of 2012 by 25.6% and amounted to USD 603.7 million, while imports from our region has increased by 17% (USD 131.5 million) . The most needed for Ukraine is Mogilev lifts and lifting equipment ― 42% of total exports, 30% for fabrics of synthetic fibers, newsprint, and agricultural equipment. Imported goods from the Odesa region are spares, oilcakes, parts of footwear, gear shafts.

“Thanks to this visit the mutually beneficial points were identified. We are interested in establishing a joint production of parts for the elevators, the purchase of agricultural equipment, rehabilitation of our children,” Mr Goncharenko noted.

The delegation of the Odesa region, which included representatives of the executive authorities, business leaders and public organizations, attended the Mogilev region with a three-day visit. The guests familiarized with the leading companies in the region ― “Mogilevliftmash”, “Babushkina Krynka”, “Mogotex” and visited the Mogilev Free Economic Zone.
