ODESSA, JULY, 31ST, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — The President of stevedore company «GPK-Ukraine» Klaus Shmeker considers that the Odessa sea trading port does not have not enough territory for development, IA “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.
K. Shmeker has declared this yesterday, on July, 30th, during a solemn ceremony of putting into operation of the new «Libherr» loader in Odessa port.
«The basic problem of the Odessa port is a shortage of territory. We are ready to invest in port, but there is no territory for development», — K. Shmeker has noted.
According to the head of the company, despite of the above-named difficulties, «GPK-Ukraine» is measured to continue cooperation with port and in the near future to invest nearly 30 million dollars in capacities which are already available in port.
Besides «GPK-Ukraine» together with the Odessa port have addressed a proposal to the Cabinet and to the Ministry of Transport about an alluvium of territory for construction of one more container terminal.
