ODESA, AUGUST 2nd, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― The Consul General of the Turkish Republic in Odesa Mr Huseyin Ergani is leaving Odessa due to the finish of his diplomatic mission, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Odesa City Council Information Office reported today, 2 August.

According to the information, 1 August, 2013, the Consul General of the Turkish Republic in Odesa Mr Huseyin Ergani visited Odesa City Hall and held an official meeting with Odesa City First Deputy Mayor Mykola Ilchenko.

Mr Huseyin Ergani has been working in Odesa for over 5 years. Besides, he is also been carrying out his diplomatic duties in Odesa, Vinnitsa, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovograd, Mykolaiv, Zakarpattia, Kherson, Chernovtsy regions, and in Sevastopol City, Crimean Autonomous Republic, as well. The diplomat confessed that he is leaving our hospitable city with some slight sadness. For the years having spent here, he has acquired many friends, held numerous cultural events and realized a variety of projects.

Mykola Ilchenko agreed that there is no country to have carried out as many projects with Odesa as Turkey has. And the projects that are planned or being carried out at the moment would certainly be fulfilled.

In order to mark off his dynamic social activity, considerable personal input into strengthening and widening the friendly relations between Odessa City and the Turkish Republic, Huseyin Ergani was awarded with the Honorary “For Merits to the City” Decoration.

“I am leaving, but Odesa is in my heart”, Mr Ergani said. “This high award made me the citizen of Odesa. In the nearest future, the new Consul General of the Turkish Republic in Odesa will be introduced — a woman.”
