Ukrainian and Kazakh railway workers discuss development and cooperation issues

ODESA, OCTOBER 28th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Representatives of transport agencies of Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan have discussed a set of questions of transport logistics development and international cooperation for the realization of mutually beneficial projects, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Odesa Railway noted today, 28 October.

According to the press service, in the conference hall of the Odesa railway, representatives of transport agencies of Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed issues of development of transport logistics and international cooperation for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects, and the creation of favourable conditions (in particular, in the legal field) for transit message. Separately, there were discussed the prospects of container trains between Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

The Ukrainian side of the delegation was presented by the Director of the Department on Infrastructure and Tourism Development Policy Coordination of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine Mykola Snitko, the Director of State Rail Policy Department Sergiy Seroshtan, First Deputy Head of Commercial Department of Ukrzaliznytsya Ivan Khoryakov, the leaders of the State enterprise Ukrainian Transport-Logistics Centre, Ukrainian State Centre of Transport Service “Liski” and its Odesa branch and others. The First Deputy Head of Odesa Railway Anatoly Tsarenko attended the event. Kazakh delegation of guests, including the representatives of JSC National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, headed by the Director of the Department of transit and transport logistics policy of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dauren Sabitov.

A protocol of meeting was signed.

According to the decisions of the document to increase the traffic volume between Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan in the near future will be established a working group on the development of transport logistics between Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Dauren Sabitov will head the group.

The participants of the meeting considered the possibility of furthering use of CIM/SMGS unify consignment in transportation of containers in Ukraine and the Republic of Kazakhstan and transit through the territory of these countries. It will be also prepared the proposals for the organization of container trains in the China ― Europe and back direction through the territory of Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

In the final paragraph of the protocol, participants agreed to accept as a basis and revise proposed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan Joint Action Plan of measures for the development of transport logistics between the two countries.
