Ex-Bulgarian Prime Minister: We can not ignore the interests of ethnic Bulgarians living in Ukraine

ODESA, MARCH 28th, 2014, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Ex-Bulgarian Prime Minister, Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Sergei Stanishev has said that the Bulgarian authorities can not ignore the interests of ethnic Bulgarians living in Ukraine, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Mr Stanishev noted commenting adopted UN resolution on the eve.

According to the information, “Bulgarian Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski and BSP leader Sergei Stanishev stated that Bulgaria is not support European economic sanctions against Russia. They explained their statements by severe economic losses that may be incurred by the country.”

According to the Bulgarian Prime Minister “further resolution of the crisis over Ukraine invariably should pass through political and diplomatic dialogue.”

“EU has a whole palette of opinions. And it is not surprising that Bulgaria has its own interests. Economic sanctions can bring great loss for our country. In this situation, we can not ignore the interests of ethnic Bulgarians living in Ukraine,” S. Stanishev noted.

The press service reminded that “28 EU member states are far from unanimous on the issue of the next series of sanctions against Russia.”
