ODESA, MAY 15th, 2014, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Metropolitan of Odesa and Izmail Agathangelus has expressed his condolences to Consul General of Turkey to Odesa Nur Sagman in connection with the deaths of miners at a mine in the province of Manisa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the Odesa diocese noted today, 15 May.

The letter of condolence reads: “Dear Mrs Nur Sagman! On behalf of the clergy and faithful of the Archdiocese of Odesa Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Orthodox community of Odesa and myself, I extend to you to your Government and people of Turkey deep condolences over the tragedy that occurred at the mine in the province of Manisa, which caused the deaths of more than two hundred miners.

Look at the peaceful, creating work of these people can not be reconciled with that grief, which today abound hearts of all Turkish citizens, and makes us to bow our heads in silence and compassion. Each person is unique and priceless, and tragic death of so many good people, your fellow countrymen, is a bitter loss for the entire human race.

Sharing with you sorrow for the dead and injured, please take these words of sympathy and support coming from the depths of our hearts.”
