ODESSA, JANUARY 15th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Head of Administration of the Odessa Sea Port Mikhail Sokolov has said that the key event in 2014 in Odessa port in terms of production capacity development has been the introduction into service of the 1st stage of the new container terminal “Quarantine mole”, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The Head of Administration of the Odessa seaport Mikhail Sokolov said today, January 15, during a press conference on the results of the port of Odessa in 2014 and the administration's plans for 2015.

“The key event in 2014 in Odessa port in terms of production capacity development has been the introduction into service of the 1st stage of the new container terminal “Quarantine mole” capacity of 250 thousand TEU. The object is created on the artificially formed territory and includes the actual territory of the terminal area of 19.3 hectares, piers and №1 №2k, total length is 650 m, the total length of coast — 430 m, operating waters “Lanzheronovskaya” area of 65 hectares,” he noted.

M. Sokolov also added that the construction of the terminal is conducted by the Port Authority on an equal footing with the investing company “HPC Ukraine”. By the investor are carried out: land reclamation, construction of shore protection, acquisition and installation of three mooring container cranes.
