The development of rail and road infrastructure discussed in Yuzhny port

ODESSA, FEBRUARY 13th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — The board of the port has discussed the development of rail and road infrastructure of industrial hub of Yuzhny, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the Administration of the Yuzhny Sea Port noted today, 13 February.

According to the information, the meeting of the board of the port was held in the administration of Yuzhny Port. The representatives of port operators with the participation of management SE “Administration of the Ports of Ukraine”, “Ukrainian Railways”, “Oblavtodor” and the Maritime Complex, Transport and Communication Department of Odessa Regional State Administration discussed the development of rail and road infrastructure of industrial hub of Yuzhny.

The participants discussed the current situation with the loading port railway approach routes and stations. According to representatives of port operators, given the long-term plans for a significant increase in turnover of the entire area, already pressing question about the lack of capacity railway infrastructure.

Special attention was paid to the issue of trucks parking. Due to lack of necessary infrastructure lines of vehicles waiting to be processed at the transshipment port terminals, stretched for several kilometers along the road Odessa-Yuzhny, thus creating unfavorable conditions for the safety of other traffic. Representatives of the stevedoring companies reported that the solution of this problem they do on their own. Thus, the company “TIS” is building a parking lot for 700 cars, port operator “Borivage” is completing the construction of parking for 300-400 units. Representatives of “Allseeds Black Sea” promised to equip the parking lot for 700 cars.

At the end of the meeting it was suggested to include representatives of “Ukrazaliznytsya” and “Oblavtodor” into the board of the Yuzhny Sea Port on a regular basis. All members present voted unanimously.
