ODESSA, MARCH 11th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — In February 3 of 7 major stevedoring companies specializing in transshipment of dry cargo (excluding containers) have increased the volume of cargo handling compared to the same month last year, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority noted today, March 11.

According to recent reports of the main dispatcher office of the Odessa port in February 3 of 7 major stevedoring companies specializing in transshipment of dry cargo (excluding containers) have increased the volume of cargo handling compared to the same month last year.

The absolute leader in handled and in the growth of the tonnage is LLC “Brooklyn-Kiev” — operator of Grain harbor facilities (transshipment of grain in bulk, rolled ferrous metals, crude ore). In February 2015 dockers of “Brooklyn-Kiev” shipped on vessels 510.6 thousand tons of cargo, which is almost 100 thousand tons more than in the February 2014 (412.4 thousand tons).

Leader in growth in percentage terms is the company “Novotekh terminal” — operator of berths 22, 25-26 of Military mall (transshipment of metal products, bulk grain, citrus and bananas). In February, the team of “NTT” recorded in their asset 177 thousand tons, which exceeds the result of last February by 92.4% (92 thousand tons).

The third company is the LLC “Metalzyukreyn Corp.” — grocery waterfront piers 7-8 (transshipment of ferrous metal ore materials, general cargo). The result of the company — 220.9 thousand tons, which is 85.5 thousand tons, or 63.1% higher than in 2014.
