The press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority noted today, March 16.

According to the information, on March 14, the first self geared crane vessel Atlas Double (76×23 m, flying the flag of Belize) entered the harbor of Odessa port. At present, Atlas Double is the most advanced floating facility in Ukraine. It is equipped with two cranes for bulk cargo handling in the main sea.

Atlas Double, designed and built in Ukraine, was put into operation last year. The vessel carries two Liebherr cranes 35 t lifting capacity each and a boom reach up to 36 m. The floating crane is able to process up to 300,000 dwt ships, its handling capacity is more than 40,000 t per day. Moreover, a large-tonnage carrier can be loaded with additional cargo from two river ships simultaneously.

Among the distinctive features of the crane loader are high maneuverability as well as a unique system of motion stabilization, which does not allow the vessel to tilt over 3 degrees. Atlas Double is able to make sea voyages, operate in a tight working space and berth without a use of tugs.
